The navigator asked for the answer into the\nmovement of heavenly bodies. The moon travels about 0.55 degree per hour, roughly\nequivalent to its own apparent diameter, against the celestial coordinate. Consequently,\nthe angle between the moon and other celestial bodies, the angles called “the Lunar\nDistance”, changes from moment to moment. It can determine the time by measuring the\nLunar Distance and comparing the distance with forecasted values on the almanac.\nHowever, to measure the Lunar Distance by sextant on the ship is very difficult, good\nresults have not been raised with the classical Lunar Distance method.\nIn this paper, in order to overcome the difficulty of measuring the Lunar Distance, we\nshowed the method which is able to measure the Lunar Distance indirectly.
